"My friend and I stayed at Warner’s Kamatha Eco Lodge for just a night and didn't want to leave when we had to. He picked us up from the main road, as his place is a little secluded. Upon reaching the place, we felt as if we've travelled back in time to the old rustic era when everything in life was simple and easily available. In one sentence, the place is beautiful."

“My happy place in Sri Lanka”

"I came to Habarana with a plan to spend a day. Ended up staying at Kamataha eco Lodge for 5 nights and it was the best part of my trip. The lodge is made in traditional srilankan style with clay and dung as explained by Warner, the super friendly host. The setting is in a beautiful rice paddy plantation and you will wake up to the sound of birds. Possibly the best Sri Lankan food I ate was at Kamatha.Definitely a place to go if you want to experience the real srilankan village life and not one as advertised in many places"

"I reached the place really late.. And since was travelling using public transport got dropped on main road by bus... Just called the owner and he came to pick me up.. Its 1 km inside... But lively location.. He prepared food on short notice.. And this one of the tastiest meals I had on my trip.. The cottage was beautiful, very clean, loved the shower area. They have power cuts being a village I guess so keep a torch handy... Did not take any safari trip with him.. But I am very sure it wud have been fun.. Probably next time.. He also let me keep my luggage at the resort for the whole next day after check out.. Thank you so much for all the help... "

"In our ten days travel around Sri Lanka, we had decided to spend one night at Kamatha Eco Lodge... ended up staying two! The lodge itself it’s easy to get to, located in a beautiful setting and surrounded by rice plantation. The bungalows, made with clay and dung, are clean, airy and big enough for 4 people, with a nice patio. There’s a common space where you eat and can have a rest at night, talking to the host, Warner. He has been one of the friendliest most helpful and welcoming people we have met in Sri Lanka. He can offer you all kind of adventure activities, from the safari to bike rides. He took us for a night safari in the jungle on the first night and he even drove us to Sigiriya They offer typical amazing Sri Lankan food -we had super and breakfast for 3$ more. We would go again and recommend it to everyone. PS: There’s an ayurvedic SPA not far from there where you get a discount if you say you’re staying at Warner’s. There’s no internet - if you really need it you can use Warner’s PC, or just buying a sim card for a few dollars anywhere in the country."
