Huruluwewa Eco park Game Drives
This park is an old teak plantation which has been transformed to grassland. During the rainy season the Minneriya and Kaudulla tanks fill up reducing the grass lands available to the elephants. During these times the elephants come to HurulluWewa for grazing on ‘elephant grass’ available abundantly in this park. It is one of Sri Lanka’s newest parks and forms the central link in the chain of protected elephant (Elephasmaximus) habitats. The numerous small herds of Elephants that inhabit the surrounding region for most of the year gather together on the open bed of the main tank to graze, drink, bathe and socialize.
